How we make money

Display advertising (planned). As the site grows, we'll run display ads via a privacy-respecting ad network. We won't allow pop-ups, auto-playing video ads, or retargeting pixels.

Affiliate links (occasional). Some links to books, products, or services mentioned in articles may be affiliate links — if you click and buy, we may receive a small commission. We mark affiliate links clearly and we don't write content about products we haven't used or wouldn't recommend. If a piece contains affiliate links, there's a note at the top.

Newsletter sponsorships (planned). As the weekly digest grows, we may accept sponsorship. Any sponsored content in a newsletter is clearly labelled.

Paid subscriptions (maybe). We're considering an optional paid tier for long-form pieces. Nothing is paywalled on the site at the moment.

What we won't do

  • No sponsored content disguised as editorial. If a brand paid for a piece, it says so at the top in bold.
  • No payment for coverage — positive or negative.
  • No editorial access given to advertisers. The content side and the money side don't talk about what's in next week's piece.
  • No PR-driven roundups written by the PR firm and lightly rewritten by us.

Corrections and editorial standards

Separate from commercial — how we source claims, how corrections work, the takedown SOP, and right of reply all live on the dedicated How we report page. We follow the spirit of the Press Council of Ireland's Code of Practice even though we're not currently a subscribing member.
